February is National Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month, and it is one we proudly celebrate at Evergreen Private Care.
Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs give high school students the opportunity to gain practical, job-ready skills while still in school, preparing them for meaningful careers immediately after graduation. In healthcare, these programs are essential. As one of the largest private- sector employers in our communities, healthcare including home health services and agencies, rely on strong CTE pipelines to ensure high-quality care for years to come.
One of the most impactful CTE pathways is the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. CNA students graduate with hands-on clinical training and state-recognized credentials that allow them to begin working right away in a respected, important, and rewarding role. We are proud to regularly hire local CNA CTE graduates, welcoming them into the Evergreen family as they begin serving clients and making a difference in the lives of others.
For many students, becoming a CNA is also the first step toward a larger goal. Graduates often continue their education to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Registered Nurses (RNs) while working and gaining real-world experience. This pathway allows students to earn income, build confidence, and make advanced education more affordable and attainable, all while contributing meaningfully to their communities.
At Evergreen, we see ourselves as both a 5-star home health agency and a workforce development organization. That commitment goes beyond hiring. We are actively involved in local committees, advisory groups, and workforce roundtables with the school districts in the counties we serve. Our goal is to ensure that CNA and healthcare CTE programs remain strong, relevant, and aligned with the evolving needs of today’s healthcare workforce.
Celebrating CTE Month is not separate from the work we do, it is central to it. By investing in education, partnerships, and career pathways, we strengthen our workforce, support our clients, and help build healthier, more resilient communities for the future.
We are grateful to the educators, students, and community partners who make CTE programs possible, and we remain committed to supporting the next generation of caregivers and nurses every step of the way.
