Honoring the Heart of Evergreen: Our Home Care Heroes

By William “David” Snyder, Owner & CEO, Evergreen Private Care | U.S. Marine Corps Veteran

As this year comes to a close, I’ve been thinking a lot about what truly defines Evergreen Private Care. While many know us as a trusted, 5-star private duty home care agency with deep roots in the community, I see us just as much, and just as proudly, as a workforce development organization.

We don’t simply employ caregivers. We develop them, empower them, train them, and help them find their calling.

Because the truth is simple: we cannot fulfill our mission without the extraordinary people who choose to serve alongside us.

Every day, caregivers walk into people’s homes — often under challenging, emotional, or uncertain circumstances — and bring comfort, steadiness, dignity, and hope. They carry the weight of responsibility with grace and compassion. They choose service. And because of that, every Evergreen caregiver is a Home Care Hero.

This month, you’ll read about Alicia, one of our Clinical Case Managers, whose dedication to serving Veterans runs deep. She comes from a family of Veterans, and caring for those who served our country isn’t just part of her job — it’s part of who she is. Her compassion, insight, and steady partnership with Veteran clients and their families exemplify what it means to serve with purpose.

And last month, many of you learned about Briauna, who not only provides exceptional day-to-day care but once saved her client from drowning after an unexpected fumble in the pool. Her quick action, courage, and devotion have forged an unbreakable bond with him — and she has stood by his side as a trusted caregiver and companion ever since.

These stories aren’t the exception. They are the heartbeat of Evergreen.

Then there are the countless quiet heroes whose names you may never read: The caregiver who worked a 20-hour shift, giving up her Sunday and beloved church service simply to ensure her client was safe. The caregivers who comfort, who advocate, who stay late, who show up early, who hold a hand, who steady a life.

This is what service looks like.
This is what humanity looks like.
This is the essence of Evergreen.

As a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, I understand the meaning of commitment and the weight of responsibility. I also know that service doesn’t end when you take off the uniform — it continues in how you choose to live, work, and care for others. I see that same spirit of service alive in our caregivers every single day.

So to every caregiver at Evergreen: thank you.
Thank you for your courage, your compassion, your skill, and your heart.
You change lives — and you change communities.

Please join me in saluting our caregivers, our partners in service, and our Home Care Heroes.
