At Evergreen Private Care, some of the most meaningful moments happen quietly—between a Veteran and the nurse who walks beside him on his care journey. One of those remarkable relationships is between our Clinical Case Manager, Alicia Rourks, RN, and her client, Mr. Warren, an Army Vietnam Veteran whose life has been shaped by service, adventure, and a love for the ocean.
A proud native of North Carolina and now a resident of Jensen Beach, Mr. Warren was drafted during the Vietnam War and served as a Military Policeman in Da Nang and the Red Beach areas. His natural skills and steady presence made him an asset to his unit. And throughout his service, one thing never changed—his passion for surfing. Wherever life took him, he sought out waves, determined to surf on every beach he encountered. With his camera always slung over his shoulder, he captured striking images of his time in Vietnam. Today, his pristinely kept photo albums offer a vivid journey through history, each page a remembrance of the moments and people who shaped his experience.
After the war, Mr. Warren continued to satisfy his hunger to explore the world by becoming a merchant mariner. His life reflects a rare blend of courage, skill, and global wanderlust.
When Alicia first met him, they immediately bonded through stories, photos, and memories that spanned continents and decades. Alicia brings extensive experience and a deep devotion to caring for Veterans. Compassionate, skilled, and clinically strong, she supports not only her clients, but also their families and the Evergreen caregivers who serve them daily. Her approach fosters true partnership—one built on trust, transparency, and profound respect for each Veteran’s unique journey.
“Working with Mr. Warren is truly a privilege,” Alicia shared. “Every photo, every story, every moment reminds me why caring for Veterans is such meaningful work. It’s an honor to support him—and to ensure his service, his life, and his voice are always respected.”
Her dedication is deeply valued—not just by Mr. Warren and his family, but also by Evergreen leadership. As a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran himself, Evergreen’s Owner & CEO William “David” Snyder shared:
“Having Alicia on our team means a great deal to me—not only as a leader, but as a Veteran. She embodies the compassion, commitment, and integrity that our Veterans deserve. When I see the way she honors their service through her care, it reaffirms the mission we built Evergreen on: to serve all clients with excellence, dignity, and unwavering respect.”
Alicia and Mr. Warren’s connection is a powerful example of the heart behind Evergreen Private Care—where service is honored, stories are preserved, and every individual is supported with purpose and pride.
