By William “David” Snyder, Owner & CEO, Evergreen Private Care
Evergreen Private Care did not begin as a business idea. It began as a calling—one I witnessed firsthand long before I ever imagined leading this organization.
I grew up watching my mother, Keren Wheeler, RN, care for patients with skill, compassion, and unwavering professionalism. She wasn’t just a nurse; she was a pioneer. On the Treasure Coast, she opened one of the first—if not the first—nurse registries in the region. From there, she went on to establish a CNA school and, ultimately, what would become Evergreen Private Care: a full-service home care agency built on clinical excellence and deep respect for both patients and caregivers.
Those early experiences shaped everything I believe about care.
While Evergreen today provides the full continuum of home care services, from companion and personal care to concierge and complex clinical support—our foundation has never changed. We are, and always have been, rooted in exceptional nursing care.
That clinical foundation is not symbolic; it is active, visible, and deeply embedded in how we operate every day.
Our nursing team leads the way.
Evergreen is proud to have more than a dozen Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses conducting home visits throughout the communities we serve. Our clinical leadership team and care coordinators are all RNs, ensuring that care decisions are guided by experience, evidence, and sound clinical judgment. This structure allows us to deliver care that is not only compassionate, but safe, coordinated, and outcomes driven.
Evergreen Private Care clients can expect our nurses provide a wide range of services, including:
- Comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Medication management and complex medication reconciliation
- Chronic disease management and education
- Post-hospital and post-surgical care
- Wound and ostomy care, infusion therapies
- Care coordination with physicians, hospitals, and specialists
- Family education, guidance, and advocacy
These services allow our clients to remain safely and independently at home, avoid unnecessary hospitalizations, and experience care that is proactive rather than reactive.
What makes this especially meaningful to me is knowing that this level of clinical excellence is not accidental—it is intentional. It is the result of decades of nursing leadership, strong standards, and a culture that values expertise just as much as empathy.
As I often say:
“Our reputation for excellence didn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of nurses leading care, clinical integrity guiding decisions, and a team that never compromises when it comes to patient safety and dignity.”
That commitment shows. Evergreen is proud to hold a 5-star reputation built on trust from families, referral partners, and the communities we serve. But behind every rating is something far more important: a nurse who showed up, assessed carefully, communicated clearly, and cared deeply.
My mother instilled that mindset from the very beginning.
As she once shared with me:
“Good nursing means seeing the whole person—not just the diagnosis—and remembering that trust is built through care, presence, and consistency. It’s a calling, and one we are truly grateful to be entrusted with.”
That philosophy is the core of our caring culture at Evergreen.
It lives on through our nurses who walk into homes every day, often during moments of uncertainty or vulnerability. It lives on through our clinical care coordinators who ensure nothing falls through the cracks. And it lives on through an organization that understands that exceptional home care starts with nursing excellence.
Evergreen may have grown and evolved, but our roots remain firmly planted in the values that started it all: clinical excellence, compassion, and unwavering commitment to those we serve.
And that is a legacy I am incredibly proud to carry forward.
